My name is David James. I live in the Washington DC area.
I am a software developer and (by interest, not yet by profession) policy wonk. So I’m interested in both software development (Ruby as well as other languages such as Scheme, Erlang, and Haskell) and public policy (i.e. environmental policy, energy policy, and so on). I’m passionate about using good software tools and practices to improve policy making. In specific, I’m interested in civic participation using online and offline tools, voting systems, and simulation and modeling of systems to inform policy.
